Using expertise to realize a vision. Inspired by new trends and the worldwide popularity of French rosé, Daniel Caro decided to create the first premium Italian rosé on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia. Prompted by his years of collaboration with Patrick Léon and the Château d’Esclan, and the lack, at that time, of rosé expertise in the Italian market, he produced a new “lifestyle wine” of the highest quality, featuring all the elements of the top French rosés. Working with a team of local winemakers on the Costa Smeralda and with more than 25 years’ experience in wine production, Caro has been making the unique Conte Lemár rosé since 2017. A blend of Grenache and Vermentino, this offers a delicate expression of spring flower flavours and a blend of ripe peach, pink grapefruit and summer berries on the palate. The wine has a silky and creamy body with a surprising hint of minerality. This is lively and refreshing with the depth and structure to pair well with food.
